The Anaheim Union High School District Foundation

Mission Statement

To enhance the learning experience of Anaheim Union High School District students through monetary and in-kind donations leading to structured programs of sports, academics, and the arts.

The Anaheim Union High School District Foundation was established by the Anaheim Union High School District and the Anaheim City Council to better meet the needs of more than 30,000 secondary students, grades 7-12, in the city. The foundation raises funds to support and sustain positive after-school, extra-curricular, and co-curricular activities on the junior high and high school campuses throughout Anaheim.

The Foundation's Board of Directors and Advisory Board is made of numerous community leaders who volunteer their time and efforts, ensuring that 100 percent of the money raised goes to accomplish the Foundation's goals. Annually, the Foundation shall allocate an amount not less than twenty-five percent (25%) of the previous year’s Closing Current Assets to be directed to the Anaheim Union High School District for the purpose of supporting sports, academics, and art endeavors, in perpetuity. The remainder of revenue is set-aside in an endowment fund to assure that after school activities for the young people of Anaheim continue well into the future. Additionally, the Foundation’s work is supported by three sub committees, which strive to enhance its mission. The 2011-12 sub committees include: Resource Development Committee, Special Events Committee, and Superintendent’s Scholar/Athlete Awards Dinner Committee.

Some of the activities the foundation supports include; the AUHSD Band Spectacular; The Holiday Classic Basketball Tournament; the Celebration of Women is Sports Conference; The Student Art and Photography Exhibition; the Superintendent's Scholar/Athlete Awards Dinner; Spelling Bee and Oral Interpretation; Hope High School Awards; and a full slate of intramural and senior high athletic programs.
