Anaheim Veterans Resource Center - City Resources

The City of Anaheim offers services to assist existing and returning veterans with access to important local resources for employment, housing, education, health care, daily living and more.

Anaheim Housing Authority
The Anaheim Housing Authority provides a Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program with preference to veterans that live and/or work in Anaheim. The HCV Program currently provides vouchers to veterans. In addition, veterans currently on the waiting list are given preference.

Homeless Voucher Set-Aside Preference
Preference is given to homeless veterans who lived and/or worked in Anaheim. Case management, and support services are provided by City staff and nonprofit organizations.

Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Voucher Program
This program combines the HCV Program rental assistance for homeless veterans
with case management and clinical services provided by the VA.

Anaheim Jobs
Sponsored by the City of Anaheim and the Anaheim Workforce Investment Board, AnaheimJobs provides self-directed job seeker services a resource room available to all customers who have a legal right to work in the U.S. Job seeker services include online and printed job listings, fax phone, computers and copier for job search, professional career planning and advice, job search workshops and job fairs, training and much more.

Annual Job Fairs
Annual job fairs are hosted by the Anaheim Workforce Investment Board and provide centralized employment services provided to veterans.

County of Orange Veterans Service Office
The County of Orange Veterans Service Office provides free benefit claims counseling and information and referral assistance to veterans, their dependents and survivors.

Employment Development Department (EDD)
A Representative from the State of California Employment Development Department (EDD) is available to assist veterans with employment opportunities and unemployment benefits.

Veteran Affairs (VA)
A Representative from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) is available to facilitate comprehensive services to veterans and provide referral services for all program and activities are offered through the VA.

Veteran Gold Card Initiative
Veteran preference is given to employment seekers including case management for up to six months, training opportunities, career planning and advice and other services.
