In 2011, the City of Anaheim was awarded a grant from the California Strategic Growth Council to prepare a specific plan for Anaheim Canyon. A specific plan is a land use planning document that provides the framework for current and future development for a defined area. The goal of the Anaheim Canyon Specific Plan (ACSP) is to create a business environment attractive to a wide variety of industries while encouraging sustainable development. The specific plan is anticipated to remove obstacles to the reuse of existing structures and promote infill development of currently vacant or underutilized properties through the use of flexible, easy to use zoning standards. Links to the draft specific plan document are provided to the left. Links to the existing and proposed General Plan and Zoning maps are provided below.
A Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) has been prepared to analyze the environmental effects of implementation of the ACSP. The Draft EIR will be circulated for a 45-day public review period from May 28, 2015 to July 13, 2015. A link to the EIR is provided below. Comments on the Draft EIR may be submitted to address below. Comments received by July 13, 2015 will be addressed in the Final EIR and submitted to Planning Commission as part of its staff report. The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing for this project on August 24, 2015, at 5:00 pm. A report to the Planning Commission containing staff’s recommendations will be available on the City’s website the Thursday before the meeting at www.anaheim.net/planningcommission. The Planning Commission will make a recommendation to City Council to approve or deny this project. The City Council is tentatively scheduled to review the project at a public hearing on September 15, 2015 at 5:30 pm. For more information, please contact:
