The Water Inspection group works as part of the Water Engineering division of the City of Anaheim Public Utilities Department. A staff of three inspectors and a supervisor oversees the construction of water facilities for both capital improvement and private development projects.
For capital improvement projects, the inspection staff not only performs the necessary assessments to ensure compliance with our current water standards, but also acts as a liaison between the contractor and other city, county, state, and sometimes federal, agencies, to facilitate construction activities. They also review pay requests submitted by the contractor and make recommendations on acceptability.
Private projects are constructed under a permit from the Planning section of Water Engineering by the individual contractors chosen by the developer. As with capital projects, the inspectors ensure compliance with our current water standards.
