The mission of the Service Department is to provide services to our veterans and their families. We do this using a cadre of AMVETS Service Officers, State Department of Veteran Affairs employees, and County Veterans Service Officers.

Auto Grant with Adaptive Equipment
The automobile grant is available to veterans or service members with ankylosis (immobility of the joint) of one or both knees or hips resulting from an injury or disease incurred or aggravated by active military service.

Chapman University: Institute for Military Personnel, Veterans, Human Rights & International Law
The Institute for Military Personnel, Veterans, Human Rights & International Law is a premiere research and academic Institute. The litigation arm of the Institute is the AMVETS Legal Clinic, which provides pro bono representation to military personnel and Veterans. They provide legal representation on issues ranging from Discharge Upgrades, Traumatic Service Group Life Insurance Appeals, VA Benefits Appeals, and issues arising under the Service Members Civil Relief Act.

The Orange County Veterans Service Office provides free benefit claims counseling and information and referral assistance to veterans, their dependents and survivors.

Veterans License Plates
Display your pride in military, national guard or reserve service or show your support for Veterans in California by purchasing a Veterans' License Plate. These special California license plates may be ordered with the armed force or veterans service organization logo/emblem of your choice. Over 100 insignias are available, and your logo will be prominently displayed to the left of a six number/letter combination
