2012 Anaheim Youth of the Year Scholarship Opportunity
The City of Anaheim Community Services Department, in collaboration with the Anaheim Lion’s Club and the Anaheim Community Foundation, is excited to provide Anaheim’s youth with the opportunity to apply for the 2012 Anaheim Youth of the Year Scholarship Award. This Scholarship award provides 11th and 12th grade students with the opportunity to be recognized for their achievements in service to the community .
All Student applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Resident of the city of Anaheim
- Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in High School
- Provide two (2) professional/educational reference letters
- Submit a one (1) page, single spaced essay that conveys the award theme, “Why I should be Anaheim’s Youth of the Year”.
- Complete a minimum of 100 community service volunteer hours by April 30, 2012
If selected, oral Interviews will be held at the Brookhurst Community Center (2271 W. Crescent Ave., Anaheim, CA 92801) on Monday, May 14, 2012 & Tuesday, May 15, 2012; qualified applicants must be available to interview on either of those two dates without exception.
