Jeff Lutz, Fire Marshal
Fire Marshal Lutz has been with Anaheim Fire & Rescue for over 20 years and leads the Prevention Division. His responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of fire prevention services in the City of Anaheim. Those services include: development and new construction review and inspection of building construction and fire protection systems for compliance with the California Fire Code and national standards; hazardous materials regulatory compliance; public education and information; fire and life safety inspections; plan review and inspections of trade shows, pyrotechnic displays and assembly permits at the City’s public venues such as the Honda Center, Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Anaheim Convention Center and the Disneyland® Resort. Steve Brio, Captain
Capt. Brio grew up in Anaheim and has lived here over 40 years. He attended to Dale Jr High and Magnolia High School. Due to his mother's significant medical conditions growing up, they accessed 9-1-1 and medical responders frequently. It is due in part to the kind way the firefighters treated his mother that Capt. Brio chose to become a firefighter. Capt. Brio has been on the department for 24 years and enjoys a number of the unique opportunities to engage with the community and visitors to Anaheim. Mary Jo Flynn, Emergency Management Assistant Director
Ms. Flynn has been with the Anaheim Fire & Rescue Department since October 2007 and arrived the week of the Santiago Wildfires in Orange County. She started working for the City of Anaheim with the Community Services Department as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor over 20 years ago and has held a variety of positions within the city. Ms. Flynn manages the Anaheim Fire & Rescue volunteer programs: Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services (RACES) in addition to educating Anaheim residents on disasters and preparedness actions; writing federal and state required planning documents; coordinating response capabilities with businesses; faith based organizations and not-for-profit organizations; training city staff in their roles as responders to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC); and is an on-call responder to the City’s EOC during disasters and emergencies. Dave Barry, Captain
Dave Barry is a Captain/Paramedic on Anaheim Engine 1. He has been with the department for 17 years and has been a Paramedic for the past 18 years. All entries on Social Media Websites created by the City shall clearly indicate that any content posted or submitted for posting is subject to public disclosure.
