Special Operations Division Commander - Jarret Young
In 1990, Jarret Young began his law enforcement career at the Anaheim Police Department as a Police Cadet. He was hired as a Police Officer in 1993. As a Police Officer he has been assigned to Patrol, the Bike Team, the Field Training Officer Program, Community Policing Team, Gang Enforcement Unit and was a Drug Recognition Expert Instructor.
In 2005, Jarret was promoted to Sergeant. He was assigned to the Patrol Division, the Personnel Detail and was a supervisor on the Primary Response Team (PRO)Team.
In 2010, Jarret promoted to Lieutenant. He served as a Patrol Watch Commander, Internal Affairs Bureau Commander, Patrol District Commander and as a Special Tactics Detail Commander.
In 2012, Jarret promoted to Captain. He served as the Operations Division Commander and is currently the Special Operations Division Commander.
Captain Young has a Master of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Chapman University, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration from The University of La Verne. He is a graduate of the Supervisory Leadership Institute and the Leadership in Police Organizations Course.
