General Information
Design Review and Entitlement Process within Redevelopment Project Areas
When your development project is located within the City of Anaheim’s 5,100-acre Redevelopment Project Area, staff is available to review plans and conceptual designs on an informal preliminary basis. Development projects subject to agreement within the Redevelopment Project Area are required to get design approval from the Planning Commission and Anaheim Redevelopment Agency. The Project Area Map may be found at the department’s web site. Please contact redevelopment staff at 714-765-4300 if you want to discuss your proposed development project.
Anaheim Colony Historic District Plan/Permit Review
For Permits and Plans which impact the exterior appearance of the 1,100 structures that are on the Preservation Plan's list of Qualified Historic Structures, review of these Permits and Plans require consultation with Historic Preservation staff. Educational pamphlets are also available on wood siding, window treatment, fences, security doors and window grills. Please contact Phyllis Mueller at 714-765-4351.
Affordable Housing Development (review and approval)
A consultation and review is required with affordable housing development staff for entitlements, agreements, permits and plan review of affordable housing projects throughout the City. Applicants are encouraged to submit a “Pre-file” application that is designed to identify issues of concern related to a project application and to review preliminary plans for compliance with City ordinances and standards. The Pre-file process is intended to streamline the overall permitting process by providing an opportunity for applicants to obtain development requirements early in the process in order to minimize revisions. Please contact Mark Asturias at 714-765-4315.
