For Permits and Plans which impact the exterior appearance of the 1,100 structures that are on the Preservation Plan's list of Qualified Historic Structures, review of these Permits and Plans require consultation with Historic Preservation staff. A consultation and review is required with affordable housing development staff for entitlements, agreements, permits and plan review of affordable housing projects throughout the City. Applicants are encouraged to submit a “Pre-file” application that is designed to identify issues of concern related to a project application and to review preliminary plans for compliance with City ordinances and standards. The Pre-file process is intended to streamline the overall permitting process by providing an opportunity for applicants to obtain development requirements early in the process in order to minimize revisions.
