Foreign Languages

Metro Net Dispatchers are able to conference on foreign language interpreters for all emergency calls that require language interpretation. Telephone calls from foreign language speakers received on 9-1-1 or on the city's fire department 7-digit emergency telephone number will be conferenced with an interpreter to ask the caller key questions in order to gather the necessary information and send the appropriate response.

TDD Users

Metro Net has 9-1-1 telephone enhancements that interact with the Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD). This technology allows the Metro Net dispatcher to exchange typed messages with the TDD user. The dispatcher is able to evaluate the emergency need and send the appropriate fir department response.
