POLICE OFFICER TRAINEE

The City of Anaheim is currently conducting a Police Officer Trainee recruitment for patrol assignments. If you meet the qualifications listed below, you may be considered for this position, upon successfully completing all required processes.

SALARY RANGE
- $4,068.13 - $4,270.93 - $4,484.13 - $4,709.47 - $4,943.47 - $5,191.33 - $5,451.33 - $5,723.47 per month


Bilingual ability is compensated at the rate of 5% per biweekly pay period
9% of the employees PERS contribution is deducted on a pre-tax basis


1. High School Graduation or possession of G.E.D. Certificate.
2. Age: 21 years of age at time of appointment.
3. Vision: No less than 20/80 in each eye (unless soft contact lenses are worn), correctable to 20/20. Normal color vision.
4. Weight in proportion to height.
5. Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License at time of appointment.
6. Must be a United States Citizen, or in the process of obtaining citizenship.
7. Bilingual skills are desirable.

Applications will only be accepted at the conclusion of a scheduled Informational Meeting (only the person named on the application at the time the application is obtained will be allowed to attend the Informational Meeting). The Informational Meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2003 and Saturday January 18, 2003. The Written Examination and Physical Agility Testing will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2003 and the Oral Interviews will be scheduled the week of January 27, 2003. Locations and times will be announced at a later date.

Further selection of candidates will include an administrative review, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation, completion of background investigation, administrative interview, a pre-placement medical examination which includes drug/alcohol screening, and an interview with the Chief of Police.

NOTE: The interview with the background investigator and completion of the background investigation will include, but is not limited to, verification and evaluation of any present and/or past use of illegal drugs, driving and employment history.

New employees must provide documentation to establish both work authorization and identity. New employees will be required to agree as a condition of employment with Anaheim not to use tobacco products at any time during their tenure, on or off duty.
