Fire Volunteer Quarterly Meeting

This is the quarterly meeting for volunteers with the Anaheim Fire and Rescue Department. Meeting topic will include facilitator instruction on a new neighborhood preparedness initiative.

Following the quarterly meeting we will host specialized training and Amateur Radio License testing.

18th Annual Flag Day Parade and Entertainment

@ Center Street Promenade and Lemon Street in Downto

The Anaheim Flag Day Committee presents the 18th Annual Flag Day Celebration – A Musical Tribute to “Old Glory” on Saturday, June 8, 2013 and all are welcome!

The event begins at 10:30am with a patriotic parade that travels up Center Street Promenade from Anaheim Blvd to the circle in front of Anaheim Ice. The parade features local dignitaries, police and fire department units and vehicles, local high school marching bands, Boy and Girl Scouts carrying large American and California parade flags, and local youth groups. The “What the American Flag Means to Me” essay contest winners from the Anaheim schools are the final parade entry.

The patriotic entertainment program immediately follows the parade at 11:00am and features Anaheim High School bands and choirs, the Dapper Tappers with a star-spangled performance, a military demonstration, and a special recognition of World War II veterans. The finale is recognition of the “What the American Flag Means to Me” essay contest winners!

Free cake & ice cream is served after the entertainment program. Free parking.

Bring your old and tattered American flags to donate to the Boy Scouts who will properly retire your Old Glory.
