Anaheim CERT Level 1
  • Completion of the basic 20-hour CERT Training
  • Completion of FEMA independent study courses IS-100 and IS-700
  • Completion of Background Check through Anaheim Police Department
 
    Anaheim CERT Level 2
  • CERT level 1 Requirements
  • Completion of American Red Cross courses:
    • Fulfilling our Mission
    • Mass Care
    • Shelter Operations
    • Shelter Simulation
  • Completion of a certified Community CPR and Basic First Aid Course (this course can be taken at the American Red Cross, American Heart Association or through the Office of Disaster Preparedness when available)
 
    Anaheim CERT Mutual Aid
  • CERT Levels 1 and 2 Requirements
  • CERT Mutual Aid Program Training
 
 
Anaheim Recertification Requirements
To recertify your active CERT status, volunteers must acquire a minimum 10 points annually:

Activity Points
CERT/RACESmeetings  when a training topic isoffered (4 pt. minimum) 1pt. each
Volunteeroutreach / booth events 5hrs. = 1 pt.
Attenda re-certification training 4pts.
Attendor take on-line any approved advanced training class (6 point max.) 1pt. per training hr. or CEU
Participatein a CERT Class Disaster Scenario 3pts.
Participatein a County-Wide VMAD drill 6pts.
Participatein an Anaheim Exercise or Disaster Activation 6pts.
RACESMonday Night Net 4 check-ins = 1 point.

Once you have successfully re-certified through the Anaheim CERT Program, you will be issued a new CERT Volunteer I.D. Card.

*Independent study courses are designed for the adult learner and provide participants the ability to work at their own pace. Average course completion time is 10-12 hours. There are no enrollment fees or charges. Enroll at www.training.fema.gov/EMIweb/IS. Libraries materials rot the independent study courses are available from the Anaheim CERT Program Manager.
