Conducts inspections to ensure new buildings, alterations and electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems are constructed and installed in compliance with all adopted codes and City ordinances.

Enforces the Anaheim Municipal Code and other related State codes. Conducts business license inspections. Enforces City parking regulations. Investigates and conducts housing, nuisance and zoning code inspections in residential, industrial and commercial areas. Oversees the City's graffiti removal and prevention programs. Conducts anti-scavenging enforcement. Provides for street vendor and taxicab enforcement. Promotes and distributes free "Dusk to Dawn" security lights to all City of Anaheim property owners.

Provides information on zoning and land use regulations and development standards, flood plain designations, seismic hazard zone designations, and demographics; and, provides zoning clearance for business licenses.

Issues Special Event Permits, Home Occupation Permits, and Large-Family Day Care Permits.

Processes applications decided by the Planning Commission/Zoning Administrator and City Council including general plan amendments, conditional use permits, variances, reclassifications, and tract/parcel maps.  Provides environmental review and oversees the preparation of environmental impact reports and other environmental documents.
