The City of Anaheim adopted Ordinance No. 6280 at the July 23, 2013 City Council meeting establishing residency districts for City Council Members and candidates for Council. This ordinance requires that the City Council create these districts and adopt maps by March 1, 2014 so that the districts can be used at the November 2014 general election. The district mapping community input process began in mid October 2013. Maps will be drawn for both 4 and 6 Council districts due to the placement of a proposed ballot measure on the June 2014 ballot asking voters whether the size of the Council will be increased to 6 plus a separately elected Mayor.
