Photovoltaics
(PV) is a technology that converts sunlight into direct-current (DC)
electricity. Usually installed on the roof of homes, residential PV
systems, or solar panels, are modular and easily expandable. They operate
using sunlight and they create no noise or pollution.
In
an effort to meet future load growth through energy efficiency and renewable
energy generation, Anaheim Public Utilities has installed PV systems
at a number of city facilities. To encourage customers to commit to
renewable energy generation, Anaheim Public Utilities is offering residents
an incentive for the installation of home PV systems. This incentive
will be reduced annually over the 5 year span of the program.
By
installing a PV system on your home, you can offset your electric energy
use with emission-free renewable generation.
