ANAHEIM PUBLIC UTILITIES GENERAL MANAGER CO-AUTHORS NEW BOOK ON ENERGY AND UTILITY INDUSTRY
ANAHEIM, CA (December 12, 2005) - Marcie Edwards, general manager of Anaheim Public Utilities, was selected by the editorial board of Inside the Minds as a co-author in the recently released book, Inside the Minds: The Energy and Utility Business: Energy Authorities on Conservation, Management, and Cost.
This publication is an authoritative, insider's perspective on significant issues surrounding the energy and utility industry. Edwards was one of featured CEOs and general managers from the nation's wide variety of energy companies-both private and government-owned-to lend their expertise and knowledge as contributing authors to the book. Edwards has been with the City of Anaheim since January 2001. She has full management responsibility to plan, direct and manage the day-to-day activities and operations of the Utilities Department. She temporarily left her position with Anaheim for six months in 2004 to assume the role of Acting CEO on an interim basis for the California Independent System Operator
Edwards, who has 30-plus years of service to the public utilities industry and the communities of Los Angeles and Anaheim, was a past recipient of The Orange County Business Journal's Annual Women in Business Award. She has a bachelor's degree in organizational management from the University of La Verne, and is also the current president of the California Municipal Utilities Association, as well as the California/Nevada regional director for the American Public Power Association.BR>
