ANAHEIM PUBLIC UTILITIES INTRODUCES MANAGE YOUR ACCOUNT ONLINE TO PROVIDE CUSTOMERS WITH EASY ACCOUNT ACCESS

ANAHEIM, CA (May 2, 2006) - Anaheim Public Utilities customers are now able to manage their utility account 24 hours a day, seven days a week through the City’s website. This new service, called Manage Your Account Online, is free to all customers and brings the City closer to establishing a “Virtual City Hall,” one of the priority initiatives for 2006 outlined by Mayor Curt Pringle in his State of the City address earlier this year.

Manage Your Account is a one-stop shop for online utility account services. It conveniently allows customers to request services to be turned on or off, view account information, view account history, view pending service orders, request a one-time payment extension and update customer information.

“In keeping with the Mayor’s initiative, our customers no longer need to come to our offices at City Hall to take care of their electric or water utility account transactions,” said Marcie Edwards, Utilities general manager. “Whether they are traveling or relaxing in the comforts of their homes, they will be able to manage their utility account 24/7 with just the click of a computer. Ultimately, this will make our customers’ lives less hectic by offering them the ability to conduct business via our online service versus the traditional method of visiting our office in person.”

“I applaud Anaheim for stepping up to the plate and offering this innovative technology to its utility customers,” said Ray Maggi, vice president of the Legislative Council for the Apartment Association of Orange County. “This is a great service that will benefit Anaheim property owners. I’m sure you are going to see this service available in other cities as well.”

Manage Your Account also benefits apartment owners through the Participating Apartment Owner (PAO) Program, which enables owners or authorized agents to access the PAO Portal. By using the online portal, owners or authorized agents are able to monitor apartment units to ensure tenants have signed up for service as they move in and turned off service as they move out. Also, PAOs will be able to delete or add authorized agents, view account information, account history and pending service orders.

To access the new service, all customers need to do is log on to www.anaheim.net and click on Utilities Manage Your Account. Anaheim e-Pay customers may also continue to pay their utility bills online through Manage Your Account.  For additional information, please call 765-3300.
