ANAHEIM PUBLIC UTILITIES AND ANGELS BASEBALL
TEAM UP FOR WATER AWARENESS MONTH
ANAHEIM, CA (May 4, 2006) - In celebration of May as Water Awareness Month, the Angels are honoring the winners of Anaheim Public Utilities’ 16th annual Water Conservation Poster Contest. The young artists, first- through sixth-grade students from Anaheim elementary schools, will receive trophies on Tuesday, May 30, during a pre-game ceremony on the field prior to the 7:05 p.m. game against the Minnesota Twins. (A list of winners, their schools and teachers is included with this press release.)
The winning posters will be exhibited in the lobby of City Hall West, 201 S. Anaheim Blvd., for the entire month of May. They may also be viewed on Anaheim’s Web site by clicking here.
Water Awareness Month provides Anaheim Public Utilities the opportunity to thank residents for conserving water and remind them that because California’s future water supply remains uncertain, judicious water use must become a way of life. The contest is part of the annual campaign to emphasize the necessity of long-term water conservation to protect water resources for future generations.
By offering several water-efficiency programs, Anaheim Public Utilities encourages its customers to use water wisely because, as this year’s Water Awareness slogan states, “Be Water Wise and See What Grows.” For more information about water conservation programs, call 765-4256, visit www.anaheim.net and click on Public Utilities under City Departments or simply click here.
