ANAHEIM PUBLIC UTILITIES PRESENTS FREE BUSINESS SEMINAR ON CENTRAL PLANTS AND AIR HANDLING

ANAHEIM, CA (May 5, 2006) - Anaheim Public Utilities invites local businesses to register for a free seminar titled Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems Central Plants and Air Handling, Part III. The seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, at City Hall West, 201 S. Anaheim Blvd., in the Gordon Hoyt Conference Center on the second floor. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with lunch provided from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Seating is limited, and reservations are required.

The air handling components of a central plant air conditioning system are essential for providing comfort to occupants of commercial facilities. This course, in conjunction with next month’s seminar on chilled water systems, provides a foundation for understanding central plant air conditioning systems and discusses how you can minimize the cost of your commercial facility’s central air conditioning system.

This course covers the variety of air handling systems used in commercial and industrial applications, and introduces typical air system components: constant and variable air volume systems, variable air volume flow control, adjustable speed drives, ventilation, economy cycle and other energy-conservation opportunities. It includes an in-class case study that demonstrates a model for analyzing typical variable air volume retrofit economics.

Attendees must register by Friday, May 12. Please call 765-4291 or e-mail anaheimpublicutilities@anaheim.net.
