ANAHEIM PUBLIC UTILITIES HOSTS FREE BUSINESS SEMINAR ON CENTRAL PLANTS, CHILLED WATER SYSTEMS

ANAHEIM, CA (June 9, 2006) - Anaheim Public Utilities invites local businesses to register for a free seminar titled HVAC IV (Central Plants/Chilled Water).  Chilled water systems are used to provide air conditioning comfort to the oc¬cupants of commercial buildings and industrial facilities, and to support indus¬trial processes. They often account for a major portion of the overall energy consumed. New technologies can be applied to reduce this cost by more than half.

Combined with HVAC III, these two seminars provide a foundation for un¬derstanding central plant air conditioning system technology and operations. Attendance at HVAC III is not required for this seminar. HVAC IV emphasizes strategies for owning and operating an energy-efficient chilled water system, explores the components of typical systems, controls and operating concepts, and water conservation issues and opportunities.

The seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 21, at City Hall West, 201 S. Anaheim Blvd., in the Gordon Hoyt Conference Center on the second floor. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and lunch will be provided from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Seating is limited, and reservations are required.

Attendees must register in advance by Friday, June 16. To register for the seminar, call 765-4291 or e-mail anaheimpublicutilities@anaheim.net.
