ANAHEIM PUBLIC UTILITIES RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD
FOR HIGHEST DEGREE OF ELECTRIC SERVICE
ANAHEIM, CA (June 26, 2006) - Anaheim Public Utilities was one of only 64 utilities nationwide to receive the Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) award from the American Public Power Association (APPA). The prestigious award, which was presented at the association’s recent Engineering & Operations Technical Conference in Sacramento, recognizes utility companies for providing customers with the highest degree of reliable and safe electric service.
Anaheim Public Utilities also received the Platinum Level award for meeting 90 percent of the criteria, which included participating in a national, regional or local research and development program; regularly performing improvement projects to maintain the system’s integrity and efficiency; involving utility staff in applicable industry conferences and workshops, and opportunities for education; and utilizing safe work practices.
“Receiving an RP3 designation demonstrates our utility’s commitment to its customers and the community, as well as the outstanding work of our dedicated employees,” said Marcie Edwards, Utilities general manager. “Only about 3 percent of the country’s more than 2,000 public utilities received this award.” ### ABOUT ANAHEIM PUBLIC UTILITIES For more than 100 years, Anaheim Public Utilities has served Anaheim water and electric customers with low rates and reliable service.
