ANAHEIM PUBLIC UTILITIES NAMES MARK WARD ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER – ELECTRIC SERVICES

ANAHEIM, CA (August 31, 2006) - Mark Ward has been named Anaheim Public Utilities’ assistant general manager for electric services. After a nationwide search, Ward was selected for the executive management position following the retirement of Ken Noller. He began his official duties on August 31.

For over 30 years, Ward has worked with Southern California electric utilities where he gained experience with utility operations, planning, contracts, regulatory affairs and administration. He has also been a long-standing proponent of community-owned power and strongly believes in a local utility’s ability to provide safe, reliable and cost-effective power that meets the needs and standards of the local community.

“With the addition of Mark Ward to our Anaheim team, the utility will continue its commitment to a strong safety record for our employees and the public it serves, unsurpassed electric service at prices less than those of the surrounding communities, and support of the city’s goals in environmental stewardship, redevelopment and community values,” said Marcie Edwards, Anaheim Public Utilities general manager.

Noller retired August 30 after seven years as assistant general manager of electric services. He also served as acting general manager for the last six months of 2004.
