ANAHEIM PUBLIC UTILITIES PARTNERS WITH EVS-23 FOR LARGEST ELECTRIC DRIVE CONFERENCE IN THE WORLD Public Day on Sunday offers chance to test drive latest in battery, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fuel cell electric vehicles

ANAHEIM, CA (November 27, 2007) - Anaheim Public Utilities is an official partner of the 23rd Electric Vehicle Symposium (EVS-23) beginning Sunday when the largest battery, hybrid and fuel cell electric drive event in the world comes to Anaheim Convention Center. Sunday has been designated Public Day during the four-day conference with attendees given the opportunity to test drive battery, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fuel cell electric vehicles.

The event begins at 11 a.m. when visitors may browse the 36,000-square-foot exhibit hall featuring over 125 exhibitors, including automotive manufacturers, utility companies, component suppliers, technology developers and more. An Authors’ Pavilion will be open from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. featuring authors of the latest books regarding our dependence on foreign oil, global warming and challenges in bringing advanced technologies to the showroom. A Mayors’ Forum is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. in which mayors from several Southern California cities will share their successes and challenges implementing electric drive in their government fleets and residents’ lives.

The Ride & Drive event ends at 4 p.m. This is a rare opportunity for the public to not only “kick the tires” of vehicles that are available today, but to drive the prototype vehicles of tomorrow. Representatives from each manufacturer will be on hand to answer questions.

Public Day admission is $10. Children 12 and under are admitted free. A $2 discount coupon is available from the conference Web site at www.evs23.org.
