 Hours of Operation

  • Park grounds and trails are open sunrise to sunset, seven days a week
  • The John J. Collier Interpretive Center is open Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.  
  • Parking lot gates and restrooms are locked at 5 p.m.

Entrance & Parking


There is no fee required to enter or park at the nature center. However, a $5 donation is greatly appreciated and helps fund our year-round nature-based programming. Parking at the Nature Center is limited in the dirt lot, but guests are able to utilize street parking on the sides of Walnut Canyon Road in designated areas as well. Please adhere to all parking areas signs.


Groups & Self-Guided Tours


Groups and classes must have reservations. Guided group tours can be scheduled by calling (714) 998-8380 or emailing ocnc@anaheim.net


Park Regulations


Oak Canyon Nature Center has established operational guidelines which are designed to promote the conservation of natural resources, as well as benefit and protect park visitors. These guidelines include:


  • No dogs or horses, or other pets (with the exception of service animals). 
  • No smoking, cooking, or flame of any kind.
  • No picnicking, except in the designated picnic area in our parking lot.
  • No balloons
  • No bicycles or skateboards.
  • No collecting of natural objects. We encourage guests to "take only memories and leave only footprints."
  • Please stay on marked trails. Do not enter the stream or venture off trail.

Photography and Filming

All photography on Nature Center grounds, trails, or parking lot requires a permit. This includes engagement pictures, maternity pictures, headshots, and family pictures.
