It has been an honor to serve on The Anaheim Police Chief’s Advisory Board since its formation in 2005. Initially, my role on the Board was as a representative of the Magnolia School District; upon retirement this service has continued as a resident of Anaheim. My perspective on the Chief’s Advisory Board is dual: both from a school point of view and of a resident who has lived in Anaheim since 1999. A lengthy career in the field of education included 23 years as a school administrator, teaching graduate level coursework, classroom teaching, and involvement with a variety of programs and organizations providing services to students and families.
Community involvement also includes membership in Anaheim Fire Department Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and an officer of the Friends of Canyon Hills Anaheim Library. I have worked with local youth as an Instructor at Anaheim Police Department Cops for Kids Junior Cadet Academy, and coordinating a summer week of instruction for elementary school students interested in future careers in law enforcement.
