Pam Krey

Pam moved from El Segundo CA to Anaheim in 1959 and has spent her entire career and service/volunteer work in the city of Anaheim. Pam completed her 41 year career in Anaheim’s public education systems in 2012. She joined the Anaheim City School District as a 5th and 6th grade teacher in September, 1972.

She taught at Price Elementary School for 27 years, and then was asked by then Superintendent Roberta Thompson to start the Anaheim Achieves Program (before it became a YMCA program.) Pam finished her teaching career, year 28, at Betsy Ross School, and then moved into an administrative position at Dale Junior High. After 4 years as an Assistant Principal, she transferred for 2 more years as Assistant Principal at Magnolia High School. In July, 2005, Pam was appointed Principal of Loara High School where she served until her retirement in July, 2012. During her career in education, Pam was named Teacher of the Year, received the NBC Crystal Apple Award, and was honored at the state level for her Choice, Connections, Solutions program she developed while at Price Elementary School.  In May of 2012, on National Teacher Day, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez recognized Pam’s accomplishments in education, both as a teacher and administrator, on the floor of the House of Representatives in Washington D.C. and entered that recognition into the Congressional Records.

Pam attended Katella Elementary School, Ball Junior High, and Loara High School. She attended Cypress Community College, transferring to Cal State Fullerton to complete her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech/Public Address and obtain her teaching credential. She obtained her Master of Science Degree and Education Administrative Credential from Azusa Pacific University.

Pam was privileged to be a part of the first Anaheim Police Department PACE program and continues to be an active volunteer in Anaheim.

  • A member of the Cypress College Americana Scholarship, Anaheim Committee 
  • Through Altrusa actively supports Pathways to Hope, Boys and Girls Club, and Boys Hope, Girls Hope
  • Continually works to gain support for the Wounded Warrior Project
Pam has been married for 45 years to Rick Krey and has 2 sons.
