Lobbyist Registration Program

In August of 2017 the City Council of the City of Anaheim added Chapter 1.11 (Sunshine provisions) to Title 1 of the Anaheim Municipal Code requiring an individual who receives compensation of $500 or more in a calendar month for lobbying the City of Anaheim, or any regional agency in which Anaheim has a voting role, must register with the City Clerk as a lobbyist.

Lobbyist Registration Information

All Lobbyists must register, by filing a Lobbyist Registration form, with the Office of the City Clerk within fifteen (15) days of lobbying the City of Anaheim or any regional agency in which Anaheim has a voting role (list of regional agencies). Lobbyists are required to submit a registration fee of $100.00. Fees are due with submission of the completed Lobbyist Registration form.

Lobbyist Quarterly Reports of Activity

Lobbyists will be required to file a Lobbyist Quarterly Report of Activity with the Office of the City Clerk disclosing any lobbying of the City of Anaheim or any regional agency in which Anaheim has a voting role, as well as report any campaign contributions made during the reporting period to the Mayor or any City Council Member.

Penalties

Late submittal of Lobbyist Registration Form and/or Quarterly Report may result in a late filing penalty of $50.00. In September of 2022 the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 6535 amending sections of Chapter 1.11 of the Anaheim Municipal Code by adding Subsection .080 of Section 1.11.070 relating to criminal penalties for inaccurate information or information required to be disclosed on the Quarterly Report of Activity.
