Customer Owned Solar Energy
Anaheim has supported more than 3,500 customers installing solar throughout the City. Beginning January 1, 2021, Anaheim Public Utilities will be transitioning to Net Energy Metering (NEM) 2.0, which is designed to offer the most benefit to customers who also install an energy storage system or are able to change their daily energy use to align with the needs of the grid. NEM programs are designed to credit electric customers for excess energy produced by their solar panels and delivered back on the electric grid.
