Important Message: City Hall offices close promptly at 3:00 p.m.

For same day service, please ensure you arrive early as our indoor waiting areas may fill to capacity prior to 3:00 p.m. There is no outdoor waiting after 3:00 p.m. If you will be submitting a large project, it is advisable you arrive earlier in the day to allow enough time to complete your plan review submittal.

Accessory Dwelling Units & Junior Accessory Dwelling Units

The City Council adopted a new Accessory Dwelling Unit Ordinance on June 9, 2020. Ordinance No. 6483 became effective after 30-days on July 9, 2020. 

  • Contact the Public Works Department via email at PWPermits@anaheim.net to verify that there is sewer capacity to add an ADU to the property 
  • Review Ordinance 6483 by clicking here
    • The Accessory Dwelling Unit development standards are also accessible via the City’s municipal code.
