Accessory Dwelling Units & Junior Accessory Dwelling Units
The City Council continues to update applicable development standards as new State laws are passed. The City of Anaheim's latest Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) and Junior Accessory Dwelling Unit (JADU) development standards are accessible via the City's municipal code.
Senate Bill No. 9
The City Council adopted a new ordinance addressing Senate Bill No. 9 on January 25, 2022. Ordinance No. 6524 became effective on February 24, 2022 and provides development standards for a Two Unit Development and Urban Lot Splits.
Development standards are also accessible via the City's municipal code.
The City Council adopted Ordinance 6555 on April 4, 2023. This ordinance included amendments to various Chapters of Title 15 (Buildings and Housing) and Title 18 (Zoning) of the Anaheim Municipal Code.
Ordinance 6555 became effective on Thursday May 4, 2023.
