Used Oil & Household Hazardous Waste
The Anaheim Fire & Rescue Hazardous Materials Section and CalRecycle maintain a program that promotes the proper management of used oil and household hazardous waste. Many of the household products we use contain hazardous chemicals that pose a threat to both the public and the environment when they are managed improperly. Household hazardous waste can hurt our environment, family members, trash handlers and landfill workers. If household hazardous waste is poured into household drains or dumped into storm drains, it can upset operations in wastewater treatment plants and cause damage to local waterways and beaches.
