Successor Agency

Effective February 1, 2012, the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency was dissolved per AB 26. The dissolution process was further clarified by AB 1484.

This legislation provided for the establishment of a Successor Agency to administer the enforceable obligations of the former ARA, all subject to the approval of an Oversight Board comprised of representatives of the local agencies that serve the redevelopment project area: the city, county, special districts, and K-14 educational agencies.

On January 10, 2012, the City Council of the City of Anaheim, by Resolution 2012-001 and 2012-008, elected to serve as the Successor to the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency. At the same time, the City Council elected not to serve as successor agency related to the functions and management of various housing assets, which had previously been managed by the ARA. The Anaheim Housing Authority, by Resolution AHA-2012-001, subsequently assumed housing functions and assets.
