Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

Anaheim CERT promotes the ongoing training and participation of our volunteer force by providing many educational opportunities to better prepare for and respond to disasters. CERT certified volunteers with the City of Anaheim fall under 3 different levels of training to prepare volunteers to respond in a variety of areas during a disaster situation.

Disasters can happen at any time in Anaheim. We experience earthquakes, fires and flooding. Are you prepared to handle an emergency that is large in scale?
Training
Individuals, neighborhoods, businesses and schools may be on their own for 72 hours or more. CERT training will provide you with the necessary and practical skills to help yourself, your family and your neighborhood until trained emergency personnel arrive. CERT training is a course approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and provides critical skills in emergency preparedness and response. As a member of a CERT team, you can respond to disasters and participate in drills and exercises.

Educating Our Residents
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
