In celebration of May being Water Awareness Month, Anaheim Public Utilities and Angels Baseball will honor the winners of the 25th Annual Water Conservation Poster Contest at Angel Stadium of Anaheim on Thursday, May 7, during a pre-game ceremony on the field prior to the 7:05 p.m. game against the Houston Astros.
“We want to thank and congratulate all of the students for their participation in this year’s water conservation poster contest,” said Dukku Lee, Anaheim Public Utilities General Manager. “Every student displayed great imagination and creativity in illustrating the importance of water conservation. As we enter the fourth year of a significant drought, our students help to inform their families that we all need to do our part to save water.”
The 25th Annual Water Conservation Poster Contest was open to all first through eighth-grade students from elementary and junior high schools in Anaheim. All entries were judged separately by grade level for originality, use of color, and water conservation message with three winners selected from each grade. The contest is part of Anaheim Public Utilities’ annual campaign to emphasize the significant role and impact all residents, adult and child, have on water use and the necessity of long-term water conservation to protect water resources for future generations.
During the month of May, the winning posters will be on exhibit in the lobby of the MUZEO, located at 241 S. Anaheim Blvd. The posters are also available for viewing online at www.anaheim.net/savewater.
