ANAHEIM, Calif. (Aug. 8, 2018) — Donald Yvaska, a former Anaheim commissioner and active community member, will be remembered in a life celebration on Sunday.
Yvaska died on Aug. 4 after complications from surgery. He was 66.
A celebration of Yvaska’s life will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Moma Cozza’s Italian Restaurant. Mamma Cozza’s is 2170 W. Ball Road just west of Brookhurst Street.
Yvaska served as a city commissioner from 1997 to 2013, first on the Anaheim Redevelopment & Housing Commission and later on the Housing & Community Development Commission.
He also was an active community member, serving as president of the Anaheim Shores Homeowners Association.
“Don made Anaheim a better place,” Mayor Tom Tait said. “We will miss his endearing personality and his passion for our city. I share the heavy hearts of many with his passing.”
