Sage Park is nestled in a high density residential area in north-central Anaheim. The park restroom was built in 1963 while the playground was constructed in 1989 and were in need of significant repair since both had outlived their useful life. The City of Anaheim applied and was awarded grants through the State of California, Department of Housing and Community Development, Housing-Related Parks Program to fund all improvements. The project consisted of demolition of the existing restroom, play area, hardscape, and landscape areas and the construction of a new restroom building, playground equipment, picnic area, and related site work. The project has been successfully completed and the younger residents are exercising while creating new friendships on the new play space and all community members are benefiting from more communal time with the addition of picnic facilities.
