ANAHEIM, Calif. (March 22, 2023) – Detectives have arrested 40-year-old Santa Ana resident Jorge Centeno on suspicion of attempted murder for a shooting that occurred on March 19, 2023.
On Sunday, March 19, 2023, at about 4:10 a.m., Anaheim Police Dispatch received reports of a shooting outside a nightclub in the 500 block of S. Brookhurst St. Upon officers’ arrival, they located the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local area hospital in grave condition.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene and investigated the shooting. Within several hours, homicide detectives identified Jorge Centeno as the suspect.
On March 20, 2023, Anaheim PD’s SWAT Team served a search warrant at a residence in the City of Diamond Bar and arrested Centeno without incident. Centeno was booked into Anaheim PD Detention Facility for attempted murder and is being held without bail. The victim’s condition has improved and he is expected to survive. Because the investigation is ongoing, detectives have declined to elaborate on evidence or to discuss possible motives.
