The Anaheim Police Review Board (PRB) has been established, under the authority of the City Manager, to provide increased transparency, access to information, expand the public’s ability to provide feedback on police accountability, allow for greater civic engagement and further increase awareness of police services and operations. Through the City’s external auditor, the PRB will review critical incidents, receive real-time notifications of major incidents, review police practices and policies, and serve as an advisory body to the City Manager who will then address any recommendations to the Chief of Police and the City Council. The PRB shall be comprised of seven Anaheim residents.
Members of the PRB are expected to commit 20-40 hours per month.

Appointment: Members will be selected using a lottery system. The Board will be comprised of seven qualified candidates: one representative from each of Anaheim’s six council districts and one representative from the City at-large.
Applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s office no later than close of business on March 23, 2018. All candidates will be notified within 30 days of the application closing period.

Police Review Board candidates must undergo a background check prior to serving on the Board. The background check takes approximately 30 days to complete. If selected via the lottery, you will be contacted for purposes of completing a background check.
